>Day 1: when you arrive in San Luis Potosi you can go on a guided tour or take the “Turibus” around the historical heart of the city to learn something about the majestic architecture that distinguishes this city and that recently earned it the title of “Historical Heritage Center” in the Camino Real de Tierra Adentro Program. Don’t forget to visit the Temple of Our Lady of Carmen, which is indeed a prodigious vestige of earlier days with its Baroque facades and its Lady Chapel covered with pure gold leaf. For lunch, you can eat at a downtown restaurant – there are infinite choices, ranging from international cuisine to places which specialize in famous local specialties, such as the very typical Tacos Camila. In the afternoon, you can drive down to Rioverde, where you can check in at a hotel, and later on, for dinner, we highly recommend the city’s Enchiladas Rioverdenses.

>Day 2: Today will be a day full of new experiences and contrasting landscapes. You can have an early breakfast in Rioverde, then leave the hotel and drive to the Media Luna Lake. There you can swim or do some gentle kayaking, but we also recommend that you take the introductory course in scuba diving, which lasts a couple of hours. On this course, you learn the basics of the sport and, most importantly, how to breathe when diving with a tank on your back. Once you feel comfortable with it, you can try taking a dive and enjoying the clear views of the rich underwater fauna and flora of this lake, whose limpid waters are clean and warm.

Later on, you will want to drive up towards the Altiplano. You can either eat in Rioverde or wait to eat in Matehuala, where the local roast goat “Al Pastor” is the specialty.
